Boldo is a small evergreen tree that is in the region of the Andes in Chile and Peru, as well as in different areas of Morocco. It is also cultivated in Italy, Brazil and North Africa to meet its demand in the medical field by the European and Canadian markets.

Boldo has many biologically active components. So far there have been documented at least 17 alkaloids that are considered active constituents of boldo. In particular, most of the biological plant is assigned to an alkaloid called Boldin.
Several studies have shown that Boldin has a protective action of the liver, stimulating the production of bile in the liver, as well as digestive, increased secretion of gastric juices, stimulating the production of bile and its secretion from the gallbladder. Traditional preparation:
Digestive and liver detoxification, take ½ cup of infused leaves 1-2 times daily with meals, or 2-4 ml of 4:1 tincture twice daily, or 1-2 g of tablets or capsules twice per day. For standardized extracts, follow the instructions on the label.

Contraindications:
